Oh, great, it's my father. "Hello?"

"Hey, Lance. Do you have directions to get down to New York tomorrow?"

"Yeah. Phyllis sent us directions." My mother called two days ago to tell us about the parade on the East Side, and she had Phyllis send us directions. Why doesn't he know this?

"OK. You're not taking 95, are you?"

"I don't really know. I haven't looked at them yet."

"Because Stephan says you don't want to take 95. You want to go through Hartford."

"Um, yeah, I mean, I know how to get to the city. You don't take 95. You go through Hartford."

"OK. And when you get here, you know to avoid the East Side because of the parade?"

"I don't even know which one the East Side is. But Phyllis sent us directions."

"You want to stay off 5th Avenue."

"Yeah, OK, Phyllis sent us directions."

"And anything to the east of 5th Avenue."

"Right, see, Phyllis sent us directions."

"Or Central Park..."

"Yes, got it. Phyllis sent us directions."

"Did she know to avoid the East Side?"

"Yes."

"All right. See you tomorrow."

Don't these people even talk to each other?
