I entered my time on the Sept. 29 crossword in the wrong row. It turns out the week of Sept. 23 was only mildly disastrous (14 wrong letters, thirteen of them on Sunday; 71:41, a vaguely respectable time). The week of September 30 has yet to be calculated, though I'm not optimistic.
Just did the Sept. 22 puzzle, which was terrifically executed--a decent theme vastly improved by excellent theme entries, not one of them a stretch ("Well, OK, that's based on something that's sort of like a phrase, I guess..."). One mistake, where I outsmarted myself, looking at a crossing and saying, "If this were one letter, there would have been less obscure ways to clue the two words--so it must be something else." Ah, well, 81:44 for that week, down 325. Not too terrible.
Note that this doesn't make the crossword of the 29th any more forgivable.
