More Puzzles!
Jul. 5th, 2003 02:43 pmThose who have access to the New York Times should definitely do the Op/Ed page puzzles, which I found to be quite fun and about the challenge level I expected them to be. Also extraordinarily nicely thematic: the title of the nine-puzzle suite is "Patriot Games", and the authors did a great job of getting some sort of patriotic theme into each puzzle (e.g. "That's the Ticket!", in which 24 presidents have to be filled into two grids: Republicans in one, Democrats in the other).

Date: 2003-07-05 07:27 pm (UTC)The puzzles are on the Times website as a PDF. I'm having more difficulty with them than I'd care to admit, but I don't have quite the puzzle solving experience that most people reading this are likely to. I'm sure I'll figure out the puzzles I'm stuck on eventually. But yeah, there's definitely an appealing patriotic theme to the whole set.
