Oh, hm. It must be the case that you can only click to view people who are in your "network," i.e. no more than four people away from you. Which makes sense but is utterly opaque at first, since some friends lists had two people who I know from the same place, but only one of whom I could click on. (It turns out that, though I haven't added anyone from Brown--right now I'm at a Yalie I met in Boston, a Carletonite who lives on the Far Coast, and an MIT student--there are a few people I'm friends with from Brown who I'm connected to. In one case, by going through my Carletonite friend to her friend in Colorado who somehow knows someone who knows Sam...this is why this is fascinating at all.)
