Each pair of clues below leads to two eight-letter words or phrases. If you take the middle six letters of the answer to the first clue and reverse their order, you’ll get the middle six letters of the answer to the second clue. At the recent National Puzzlers’ League convention, Lance Nathan of Somerville, Mass., solved all 25 pairs in less than 6 minutes. The average score of the 150 puzzlers playing was about 15 answers in 20 minutes.
