Guadalcanal Diary

There's an amazing lack of information about Guadalcanal Diary on the web. I can't even find the lyrics to "Vista", which I thought was a major hit. Maybe it was much more local than I realized--Wikipedia tells me they're from Marietta.

I'm wondering how many of y'all know the song. (And if someone had an MP3 of it to spare...)

I have the MP3. And they were local, but had some success on the college charts.

I remember them being big in Atlanta when I was in 6th grade or so, but strangely enough I don't remember any of their actual music.

I used to play them at the station, but yeah they're pretty low profile. I haven't seen any CDs of theirs outside KBVR. "Always Saturday" was, I think, the song we were most familiar with. It was on "Flip Flop".

I never listened to them when they were an actual going concern (though I remember seeing one of their tapes in a friend's dorm room back around 1989ish), but I discovered them when I was seeking out "music from the '80s that I completely missed during the '80s" for a series of mix CDs. "2 x 4" is a terrific album. Never heard "Vista", though. Feel free to send that MP3 my way as well...
