Tonight's culinary experiment
Oct. 19th, 2006 11:46 pmThe less experimental side of dinner: rice noodles with the Moosewood Cookbook's peanut sauce, with shrimp and edamame. Not terrific, but OK.
The more experimental side of dinner: one can of black beans, one can of white beans. Sautee with garlic, add a tablespoon of soy sauce and a teaspoon of cider vinegar; continue to simmer until softened. Meanwhile, take 3/4 cup plain yogurt, 1/2 cup pureed pumpkin, handful of dill, shot of lemon juice, shot of honey, and curry powder, and blend until smooth. Serve sauce over beans.
The scary thing is, it kind of worked. Which is good, because that was pretty much all the food we had left in the house.
