Why I hate airlines

Airfare from Boston to Atlanta (1100 miles), round trip, Dec. 21-30, including a change of planes in La Guardia: $320.

Airfare from Boston to LAX (3000 miles) and LAX to Philadelphia (2700 miles), two one-way trips, Jan 4-6, nonstop: $280.

If only I could find somewhere 15,000 miles away, I should be able to get there for free, and with somewhat more convenience.

My tickets from Seattle to Southern Texas were $600. Which was the cheapest I could find without doing a 3-stop itinerary that included an overnight stay somewhere (those were only about $50 less anyway). The ones I'd found when I first started looking were around $750.

i attempted to purchase tickets from NYC to Anchorage, AK. the trip would take 16 hours, have three stops and cost nearly $900.

Just in case you haven't.. try kayak.com.. they do a nice price metasearch, and sometimes they might save you $10 or $15 bucks. And I must shamelessly promote site59.com, of which a good friend is a developer at. Very good (and yet sometimes terrible) last minute travel deals.
