I broke a policy last night of never ordering a "Rueben" [sic]. It wasn't bad--but that might be because, according to the menu, it had "sour cruate" [sic].

Also, just had a nice chat with Kimiko Nakanishi, a Penn alum who's been visiting for the week. Of course, Maribel introduced us, and I naturally had forgotten that I had met her before (once at a workshop in semantics, and then just this past January at the LSA, where she was hanging around with my old classmate Ken). Well, OK, I forget these things.

But just now as we were talking about her work, she told me what she was looking at and I said, "Hm--I remember someone talking about this at the LSA," and indeed it turns out I was at her talk, and asked her a question after the talk, and had nevertheless failed to remember her. (Out of fairness, she had also forgotten I was at the talk and asked a question until I said that. But it only makes me feel a little better about it.)

She asked after you, in fact! I'll definitely pass along her regards if I see her again--she's on break from Calgary, but is bouncing around from here to Delaware (staying with Satoshi?) to NYC (staying with Ken Hiraiwa, I think) to here, and is heading back to Calgary, er, soon.
