It's like they're not even trying
Jan. 8th, 2010 02:48 pmRudy Giuliani: "We had no domestic attacks under Bush; we've had one under Obama."
When Rudy Giuliani forgets about 9/11, the world is in a very, very strange place. It's like an ordinary person forgetting the word "the".

Date: 2010-01-08 11:07 pm (UTC)This has become a standard Republican talking point, either implicitly saying "since 9/11" (like Giuliani, or Dana Perino a few months ago saying "We did not have a terrorist attack on our country during President Bush's term"), or explicitly saying "since 9/11". That makes it sound like 9/11 doesn't really count somehow. Yes, it changed the world and the way America sees things, but I don't think that means that we can pretend it didn't happen during the Bush administration, not once we start keeping score as Giuliani seems to be doing.
