Moving plans - call for help
Feb. 12th, 2010 09:32 pmHey there, O Faithful Readers, particularly of the local variety.
As you may know, Michelle and I are moving to East Arlington in a few weeks. (Huzzah!) We've got plans in place, plans that include booking movers, renting a van, carrying cats around, that sort of thing. We don't need anyone to drive anything, or lift anything heavy, or anything like that. On the other hand, part of our plans are: taking the cats down to Arlington on Wednesday night, sleeping on an air mattress in the apartment, and then going and dealing with all the heavy moving Thursday morning/afternoon. The downside of this plan is that it involves the cats sitting in an unfamiliar apartment alone.
So: is there anyone out there who's feeling particularly unemployed, who wouldn't mind sitting with the cats on Thursday to make sure they don't get too edgy? (If you've never met our cats: they're really generally quite sweet, though one of them can get a little bit bitey, but only when provoked and is easily distracted by laser pointers and treats.) Or if you're free and are dying to help but just can't tolerate cats, you could come up to Lynn with Michelle while I stay in the apartment with the cats. (Again, no heavy lifting! Just a warm body to help lower stress, hold doors, and whatnot.)
