Grinnell College's new president
Feb. 19th, 2010 04:56 pmIn case you missed the announcement, Grinnell College has chosen a new president. That's not really all that extraordinary on its own, except that, to quote the aforelinked press release: "Dr. [Raynard] Kington, his partner, Peter T. Daniolos M.D., a child psychiatrist at Children’s National Medical Center and George Washington University, and their two young children plan to move to Grinnell during the summer and make the president’s residence at the College their home."

Date: 2010-02-19 10:06 pm (UTC)I looked briefly into his history (because I'm tired of university presidents coming from businesses), and noted he was coming from NIH, but didn't especially think about the fact. But I figure that getting the heck out of government is often a good move, and I get the impression that he's been more of an administrator than a researcher in his time at the NIH in any case.
