Random notes
Apr. 1st, 2010 04:58 amMonday afternoon, I went to the grocery store to pick up supplies for the seder. Coming back, the radio was playing "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes", which I love, though it's a long song, so I didn't get to hear the whole thing. When I got into the car about ten hours later, the radio was playing "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes", and I came in at almost exactly the same point as I'd left earlier.
The idea of Ethan Rayne getting taken away to a secret military detention facility indefinitely was probably a lot funnier when "A New Man" originally aired, before the Bush administration.
Seders good. Head colds bad. Also I think my cat is ignoring me, which I'm going to write off to the cold, which I think makes her nervous. Earlier I was lying on the floor; she came over, stood on my chest, sniffed at me, and walked off again.
Also good: Hebrew National salami, now that I've been told that Johnnie's Foodmaster carries it, which made that the first of four stops on today's shopping expedition. (The second: CVS, to get Sudafed.) Of course, for all that I was feeling headachy and a little numb, I was still miles ahead of the cashier there; my bill was $6-and-change for the salami and a Coke, I gave her a $20, she had to wait to get dollar bills so she could give me my $13-and-change. So I gave her two ones. And she sort of stared at them, and there was awkwardness until her manager returned with a stack of ones for her till, at which point she gave me my $13-and-change. (And my two dollars.)

(Man, I need a Buffy icon.)
Feel better!
