Sudden realization

tahnanToday, amidst three loads of laundry, I spent a fair amount of time in the kitchen. My wife has an event on Saturday that she needs to take food for, so I made her a cake. I also had bought a brisket when I was out getting strawberries for the cake, but then it turned out she was out with a friend tonight, so I kind of sighed and said, "Well, I guess I'll just make it anyway, even if she's not here to eat it."
Somewhere in there I realized I have become a 1950s housewife. I think I need a Valium.
