Kerning (and Keming)

If you don't know what kerning is, you should. If you don't know what keming is, and it's not obvious, you probably should.

I know what kerning is, and I know what keming is, but I can't figure out what the Easter eggs are. (I don't see any subtle differences in the spacing in the Google logo, or anything like that.) Hint?

The letters of the word "kerning" are spaced out more than usual in every instance of the word on the first page, and the word "keming" is kerned poorly in every instance of it on the second.

Huh. Apparently Google doesn't send the same version of the page to all browsers. If I tell my browser to identify itself to the server as Firefox, then I get the versions with the adjusted letter-spacing, but under the default setting, I don't.

Yes indeed. I recall doing fairly well on it, though not in any way that required recording my score for posterity.
