It's funny: I learned a lot of exceptions to a rule when I was in grade school, but no one ever pointed out that there's a completely different way to break the rule. Does that make the word "ancient" counterfeit?

- Made sharper or more intense, as awareness or emotions
- Polyester outfit for a disco dancer or lounge lizard (2 wds)
- The Fates, or the prophesiers in Macbeth (2 wds)
- Ten-shilling gold coin (2 wds)
