Unusual Suspects

As usual, someone's missing. (Whatever information we gather, all we really want to know is their last names.) In no particular order, we learned:

• They said their first names were Albert, Beryl, Horatio, Ivor, and Penelope.


• Their IDs said their first names were Eileen, Lesley Ann, Madeline, Martin, and Michael.


• Their passports said their birthplaces were Cairo, Egypt; Cambridge, England; Capri, Italy; Edinburgh, Scotland; and Lahore, India.


• They were working as a chef, a forger, a journalist, a mayor, and a solicitor.


• Their insignia were an eye and pyramid, film reels, keys, a lion, and a rose.


• They were hiding behind a curtain, holding a book, lounging on a fainting couch, sitting on a stool, and standing near the fireplace.
