Colin Quinn, professional moron
Jul. 30th, 2004 01:37 amWisdom from Colin Quinn tonight's "Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn":
I watch this show because (a) it's occasionally amusing, especially when the comedians rip on each other, and (b) it's on between the 1:00 am rerun of the Daily Show and the 2:00 am showing of Family Guy, so it keeps me occupied. But man, Colin's an idiot.
- The "forty acres and a mule" promise was made by Lincoln. (Not remotely true; the promise was made by Sherman. Al Sharpton claimed that "Mr. Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, after which there was a commitment to give forty acres and a mule"; so the misinformation was all Colin's.)
- Speakers at the convention kept talking about the economy and never mentioned 9/11. (I'd ask if he was watching the same convention that I was watching, but I doubt he was watching.)
