I went through all the songs with Q's in them (Killer Queen, Florence Quits, Little Earthquakes, Queen of Argyll...) though I did skip Harry Chapin's "Sequel" because it's kind of long and boring.

And now, the patriotic mix! Appropriately, the first three alphabetically are 99 Red Baloons, A Whiter Shade of Pale, and Behind Blue Eyes (the Anthony Stewart Head version). Famous Blue Raincoat, Flowers are Red, Blue Moon, White Wedding, Red Hill Mining Town...it's another really nice eclectic mix of things. 27 songs total (well, with two versions of Famous Blue Raincoat, but I did listen to all three of Suzanne, so, hey).

What defines the patriotic mix?

Having "Red", "White", or "Blue" in the title.

(Well, properly speaking, having "White" or "Blue" as a substring in the title--so I got songs with "Whiter" and "Blues"--or having "Red" as a separate word, because otherwise I was getting "High Flying, Adored" and "End Credits" from Buffy and so forth.)

How did you get it to include only the ones with "Red" as a separate word? I couldn't figure that out.

By including three criteria (and of course, we're matching "any" as opposed to "all" here):

Starts with "red "
Ends with " red"
Contains " red "

The spaces are of course key.

Ah. Thanks! I'm pretty sure you get the same result with just:

Contains "red "
Contains " red"

Nope--that would get me The Nields' "One Hundred Names", because it contains "red ".

I like "Sequel"! Although for full effect you need to listen to it a few songs after "Taxi."

And then you have to be very depressed. Or maybe that's beforehand. :)

I think I liked the unhappy ending of Taxi too much to really appreciate Sequel. I don't always skip it, admittedly. (That honor's reserved for Harry Chapin's "Sniper", which is long and depressing, and not even depressing in a good way. Well, and I would always skip "Me and a Gun" by Tori Amos if I hadn't deleted the MP3 entirely.)
