Apropos of nothing: I passed a sign today outside of Harvard, in the window of an empty storefront. The sign read "5,800 sq. ft. Not divisible."

Of course, I knew what it indicated (that the space couldn't be broken into more than one store, presumably), but I reflexively thought, "Ah, so that's what 'prime real estate' is."

I observe this to remind those who are inclined to hit me with rubber chickens when I tell bad puns: you hear the ones I tell out loud. But I have to live with these thoughts all the time. Isn't that punishment enough?

Isn't it off by a square foot?

I mean, 5801 would really be prime real estate...

No. Bend your head over this way.

From my viewpoint one padded cell over: yes, a running internal pun soundtrack is punishment enough... just as bad as an internal iPod that figures, "Hot diggety! That "God Bless Texas" song should be on HEAVY ROTATION!"

I guess you can tell I'm new at this because *I* still think you're hilarious.

(I'm trying to join the livejournal world, mostly to keep up with friends like you who I never see... I feel like the new kid at school.)

Oh you poor, poor woman. Once you tell me you think it's funny, it only encourages me...

It does beg the question of why we never manage to see each other. Is it true that you're Dieseling not infrequently? When's a good time to run into you there?

well, now... and most of this week. i'm still on a working girl's schedule, 9-5, but I try to avoid the schlep to Dorchester if I can help it. today, though, I gave in to the wireless from Diesel which sort of defeats the purpose, writing wise. I hope I can get my mojo back or I might need to retreat to somewhere without the Internet temptation...

but absolutely, come see me! here, or we could (gasp!) make plans in advance someday? Gregg is traveling a ton, but I'm always around.
