Crosswordmania
Apr. 14th, 2002 02:01 amBridget Jones recorded numbers for alcohol and cigarette and weight. Me? Crosswords. Times for the NYT daily crosswords:
Monday: 4:30 (no mistakes)
Tuesday: 4:43 (no mistakes)
Wednesday: 6:28 (no mistakes)
Thursday: 8:13 (no mistakes)
Friday: 16:32 (no mistakes)
Saturday: 11:43 (no mistakes)
Sunday: 21:27 (at least three mistakes, all three involving proper names, but at least two of which were fairly sloppy errors, one of them being a matter of writing a crossing word incorrectly)
Better than I was doing last year, and better than many, perhaps--but I feel I need to get faster than this if I'm going to make it into the B finals at next year's Crossword Tournament. (Stop snickering. Have you taken a good look at some of the things you take seriously? Sheesh.)
I'll keep posting my times here, so I have a record of them, and so I'm posting at least once a week.

Date: 2002-04-14 09:54 am (UTC)I think my goal for key area of improvement is definitely accuracy. At Stamford this year I was quite happy with my times, but only got one puzzle completely right. But if Andrew Feist gets the hell out of the way, maybe I have a shot at a Junior prize next year.
you talking to me?
Date: 2002-04-14 09:43 pm (UTC)What the heck is snicker worthy about -- well, okay, that. Well, and there's that, but what about ... no, that, too.
Hmm.
Politics. I take politics seriously. And cats. So there.
