As promised, the weekly crossword update.

Monday: 4.30 (no mistakes)
Tuesday: 5.16 (no mistakes)
Wednesday: 8.57 (no mistakes)
Thursday: 13.13 (no mistakes)
Friday: 12.51 (no mistakes)
Saturday: 21.28 (eight letters/six words wrong)
Sunday: 28.54 (no mistakes)

That's over twenty minutes slower than last week--ten minutes of which was the devastating Saturday puzzle, which took me forever and killed me on the upper corner with a lot of names I didn't know--"Hindenburg's predecessor as German president"; "'The Lover of Horses' author Gallagher"; "Conductor _____ Walter." All eight letters wrong were on three five-letter across answers in the upper right and three of the down answers crossing them.

All in all, in spite of being much faster on Monday and Tuesday than my allotted time, I ended up 635 points behind my ideal point (and my ideal point is "no mistakes in half my allotted time"--15 minutes for Monday and Tuesday, 20 for Wednesday and Thursday, 30 for Friday and Saturday, 45 for Sunday; these numbers are probably much too high).

This week's Monday puzzle took me 3:45 though, a good 45 seconds faster than the last two weeks. Maybe this is a good sign for the week.
