"Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With a Pict" by Pink Floyd
"Many Pieces of Large Fuzzy Mammals Gathered Together at a Rave and Schmoozing with a Brick" by Man or Astro-Man?
"Multi-Variational Stimuli of Sub-Turgid Foci Covering Cross Evaluate Techniques for Cognitive Analysis of Hypersignificant Graph Peaks Following Those Intersubjective Modules Having Biodegradable Seepage" from the same Man or Astro-Man? album

I don't know if I need these songs. But it does give me a strange amount of respect for a band I had never heard of before tonight. (Not Pink Floyd, the other one.) I'm sorry I was only able to hear thirty seconds of "A Simple Text File" on iTunes; I'd love to hear the full 2:06 of a dot matrix printer at work. There's an odd genius at work there.

I have to think of something like that as being the psychic heir to Leroy Anderson's "The Typewriter".

Man... or Astro Man? is one of my favorite bands, actually. Most of their stuff is great surf-guitar, but they have put out at least one experimental album, which contains that song. I'm actually a little disappointed that "Text File" is their #1 iTunes hit, since their usual stuff is so wonderful, all shot through with a crazy sense of humor.

Man or Astroman? seems to have done the theme song to "Space Ghost Coast to Coast."

If you're looking for purely long song titles, you might add to the list The Orb's "A Huge Ever-Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules from the Centre of the Ultraworld." Or "In Sarah, Mencken, Christ, and Beethoven There Were Women and Men" from Tortoise's "TNT" album (which is a great album even with the long song title). I'm sure there's more.

man or astro man? did a cover of "interplanet janet" on the schoolhouse rock rocks album. it's pretty good, although not as good as blind melon's "three is a magic number or skee-lo's "the tale of mr morton."
