Notes from the Diesel
Jun. 18th, 2005 04:30 amToday's lesson: It's all well and good to sit in a coffeeshop doing formal logic and quietly singing along with the Nields on "Mayday Cafe", a song about sitting in a coffeeshop. But when you find yourself staring at the logic and singing "Nothing to prove", something has gone wrong.
Today's other lesson: vanilla latte with almond? Fine, fine thing.
Yesterday's lesson: While iced vietnamese coffee (coffee with sweetened condensed milk, for those not in the know) is quite good, adding a dose of chocolate syrup puts Too Much Sugar into one's system.
And something random I found from some time ago: I noted that the guy sitting at the next table (with his back slightly to me, thus allowing me to see his computer screen) opened a folder on his desktop with the name "Necronomicon Fragments". I think I'm scared. (Though I also have to admit that, if I'd had the presence of mind to name my folder "Necronomicon Fragments" instead of "Dissertation", I'd have done it in a heartbeat. But I feel like it's too late to go back now.)
