Crosswords for the week
May. 13th, 2002 03:09 amFour crosswords tonight--a testsolve for a friend, and then Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Monday's was by far the worst, at 5:32 (a minute too slow for my usual pace...a lot of erasing, for some reason).
In any case, now that I'm back from Syracuse, NY and my brother's graduation, and caught up on the puzzles, the week's results are:
Monday: 4:30 (clean)
Tuesday: 5:30 (clean)
Wednesday: 5:49 (clean)
Thursday: 11:58 (1 mistake)
Friday: 8:54 (1 mistake)
Saturday: 14:53 (clean)
Sunday: 19:56 (clean)
The mistake on Friday was pretty much exactly compensated by the ridiculously fast time. (Then again,
saxikath pretty much agreed that it was an easier friday than usual; what these times don't take into account is actual absolute difficulty of any given week's puzzle.
But 71:30 is my best week yet, much faster than last week's 111 minutes, and my "score," in tournament terms, is ten points above where I'm trying to get myself, instead of 1130 points behind. So I should be able to overcome the Monday problem (and what's 25 points here or there?) and rock this week, too.
